Urge Brazilian lawmakers to protect wildlife from hunting

Brazil’s many wildlife species have been largely protected from hunting by Brazilian law. Now, despite the existing threats in the face of rapid deforestation and poaching, Brazilian lawmakers want to introduce a law that would open the country to the hunting of wild animals.

Hunting causes great harm to wildlife by putting a price tag on their heads, allowing globe-trotting wealthy trophy hunters to buy the right to kill them for fun and bragging rights. As the most biodiverse country in the world and home to critical habitats such as the Amazon Rainforest, it is imperative that the country protects its wildlife who live there.
